Percussion, djembe, sogo, ning nong, kongoma. Grew up in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Came to UK as a theatre and dance performer in 1987. He founded Kabudu dance company and has worked extensively in UK in African Dance and education. Joined Baka Beyond in 1997 and is influenced by the street culture of Freetown and the Mendi culture of Sierra Leone.
Martin Cradick recorded the Baka musicians live in the rainforest with a mobile and a solar-powered multi-track recorder and the band became known as Orchestre Baka Gbiné. In February 2012, a new recording, Kopolo was made to be released later in 2012. In April 2006, Baka Beyond began a UK tour.
Baka Beyond and Baka Gbine live at the Zodiac, Oxford. The current touring unit are bringing the Spirit of the Forest to festivals in UK and USA. Martin Cradick (guitar), Su Hart (vocals) who have both spent time living and playing music with the Baka Pygmies in their rainforest home.
