Mark Knopfler is a British guitarist, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was the lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of the rock band Dire Straits and a solo artist since 1988. He has composed and produced film scores for nine films, including Local Hero, Cal, and The Princess Bride. He is a four-time Grammy Award winner and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
