Biografie. Marc Ribot nahm als Teenager klassischen Gitarrenunterricht bei Frantz Casseus, der ein Freund der Familie war. 1978 zog er nach New York und spielte unter anderen mit dem Jazz-Organisten Jack McDuff und dem Soul-Sänger Wilson Pickett.Zwischen 1979 und 1983 war er Mitglied der Band Realtones/Uptown Horns Band und von 1984 bis 1989 der Lounge Lizards.
