SIREN - 8/10. Siren is the (near) perfect combination of Roxy Music 1.0 and Roxy Music 2.0. It's bizarre and catchy at the same time and is a nice glimpse into what they'd be doing four years later. Opens with "Love is the Drug," one of their best songs and their only top 40 hit. MANIFESTO - 7/10.
Manifesto is the sixth studio album by English rock band Roxy Music. It was released in March 1979 by E.G. in the United Kingdom, Polydor in Europe and Atco in the United States. Following an almost four-year recording hiatus, Manifesto was Roxy Music's first studio album since 1975's Siren. The first single from Manifesto was "Trash", which peaked at number 40 on the UK Singles Chart.

Die Kompositionen fielen kompakter aus als zuvor und das mondäne Lebensgefühl von Bryan Ferry rückte noch weiter in den Vordergrund.

Roxy Music's finest hour is what Manifesto is. The biggest surprise is the original rock'n roll version of "Angel Eyes". This was a big breath of fresh air/sigh of relief to hear a GREAT version of the song after being all too familiar with the lame disco version. As a bass player, this cd is a bassist's dream.
