Roy J. Bittan (born July 2, 1949) [citation needed] is an American musician best known as a long-time member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Nicknamed "The Professor", Bittan joined the E Street Band in 1974. ... Bittan also played on the Dire Straits album Making Movies (1980).
Iovine had also worked on Springsteen's Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town albums, and he was instrumental in recruiting E-Street Band keyboardist Roy Bittan for the Making Movies sessions. Making Movies was recorded at the Power Station in New York from 20 June to 25 August 1980.
