This Heat were early Post-Punk pioneers with tape loops, cut and paste techniques and Industrial noises. They were formed by ex-Quiet Sun drummer Charles Hayward, multi-instrumentalist Charles Bullen, and tape manipulator Gareth Williams, who also played bass and keyboards.The trio set up their own rehearsal and recording studio in Brixton, dubbed 'Cold Storage', in which their music was recorded.

Made Available collects This Heat’s two Peel Sessions, recorded for BBC Radio 1 in April and October of 1977 and features essential songs that would later appear on their debut album, This Heat (1979) and the follow-up, Deceit (1981), as well as electro-acoustic works unique to these sessions.
