The Soil is a South African a cappella group from Soweto founded in 2003, consisting of the lead singer Ntsika Ngxanga, beatboxer Luphindo, and vocalist Theo Matshoba. The band eponymous debut LP The Soil (2011), which became certified Platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).

The album release follows the induction of a new member Theo Matshoba last year to replace Buhlebendalo Mda, who left to pursue a solo career. The Soil’s other members are Luphindo Ngxanga and Ntsika Ngxanga. Theo Matshoba’s seamless integration into the unit promises to elevate The Soil’s sound.
