Lucky 13 - released October 2014. This is by far the longest one disc musical project I’ve done that’s been brought to the masses out there. The ‘Live’ cd had more but it was a 2-cd package. So with this current new cd clocking in a just above 70 some odd minutes it’s a bit of a mini-marathon to listen to.
Lucky 13. Chris Duarte's recordings have always been rooted firmly in the blues with a rock and roll edge. Lucky 13 continues in the tradition of contemporary blues rock with bursts of fusion, pop, and heavy psychedelia throughout.
His thirteenth album, Lucky 13, is billed as a Chris Duarte Group release, featuring Dustin Sargent on the bass, and John McKnight on the drums, while Duarte plays the guitar and provides vocals. Following its release in 2014, it received positive reviews for its blend of slow, loping blues with psychedelic , rock and jazz overtones.
10 de dic. de 2014 · Lucky 13 opens with “You Know You’re Wrong,” which starts as a buttery, bluesy jam that quickly turns into a fast-paced face-melter laden with incredible guitar riffs reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix. Duarte’s raw vocals serve the song well, adding a mature rock-voice to the already fine-tuned blues grooves.
