Família. Fill de Giuseppe Visconti ( Milà, 10 de novembre de 1879 – Milà, 16 de desembre de 1941) i de Carla Erba (propietària de la coneguda societat farmacèutica Carlo Erba, morta a Cortina d'Ampezzo, Belluno, el 17 de gener de 1939 ). La família Visconti, que va regnar a Milà fins al segle xv, pertany a la gran aristocràcia italiana.
