Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams is the debut studio album by the American rock band BoDeans, released on 16 April 1986 on Slash/Warner Bros. The album was produced by T Bone Burnett. The album title comes from the lyrics to the Rolling Stones song "Shattered." It reached number 115 on the Billboard 200 chart.

BoDeans emerged out of Waukesha, WI in 1986 with the seminal debut, Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams, produced by T Bone Burnett. Following Outside Looking In [1987], Home [1989], and Black and White [1991], Go Slow Down [1993] yielded “Closer To Free,” which famously served as the theme song for the smash hit television series Party of Five .
With producer T-Bone Burnett keeping the production to a lean minimum, the BoDeans delivered this incredibly straightforward collection that features an abundance of hooks from the slightly forlorn opener, “She’s a Runaway,” the high-spirited “Angels,” and the plucky, self-assured “Fadeaway.”.
