Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams is the debut studio album by the American rock band BoDeans, released on 16 April 1986 on Slash/Warner Bros. The album was produced by T Bone Burnett. The album title comes from the lyrics to the Rolling Stones song "Shattered." It reached number 115 on the Billboard 200 chart.

With producer T-Bone Burnett keeping the production to a lean minimum, the BoDeans delivered this incredibly straightforward collection that features an abundance of hooks from the slightly forlorn opener, “She’s a Runaway,” the high-spirited “Angels,” and the plucky, self-assured “Fadeaway.”
BoDeans emerged out of Waukesha, WI in 1986 with the seminal debut, Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams, produced by T Bone Burnett. Following Outside Looking In [1987], Home [1989], and Black and White [1991], Go Slow Down [1993] yielded “Closer To Free,” which famously served as the theme song for the smash hit television series Party of Five .
