Production. Eight of the ten songs, which comprise Ready Or Not, were written by Gramm in partnership with former Black Sheep bandmate Bruce Turgon. The album was recorded in 1986 at Bear Tracks Recording in Suffern, New York and The Hit Factory Recording in New York City. It was produced by Gramm and Pat Moran, who is known as an engineer on recordings by such performers as Rush and Robert Plant.
Lofgren appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, to promote his 1985 solo release Flip. Lofgren is credited on two of Lou Gramm 's (of Foreigner) solo albums: Ready or Not released in 1987 (Lofgren listed as lead guitarist) and Long Hard Look released in 1989 (Lofgren listed as one of the guitarists).
His brother, Ben Gramm, is on drums and guitarists Nils Lofgren and Vivian Campbell rounded out the band ensuring this album would rock. Gramm’s performance on this album is very strong. Although the album failed to have a huge hit single, this album, start to finish, is much stronger than his first solo effort.
