Lon Morris College (LMC) was a private junior college located in Jacksonville, Texas, United States, and was the only school affiliated with the United Methodist Church that was owned by an individual conference and not the denomination as a whole.
LMC provides a 10:1 student to teacher ratio. Lon Morris College offers over 30 majors in three divisions of studies. Students can choose from three Associate degrees in Arts, Fine Arts, and Sciences. 98% of LMC graduates transfer to 4-year universities.

Lon Morris was founded by the United Methodist Church. Optional weekly chapel services, special emphasis weeks, lectures by distinguished Christian scholars and Bible studies are all help to foster spiritual development.

16 de ago. de 2009 · In 1924 the name changed to Lon Morris College in honor of the Rev. R.A. (Lon) Morris, a Pittsburg, Texas banker, Methodist lay preacher, and friend of Dr. Alexander who endowed the college with a grant of $10,500. Through the years financial problems were an issue.
