Liverpool Boys High School is a government-funded single-sex comprehensive secondary day school for boys, located in Liverpool, a south-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1955 as the suburb's first high school, [2] the school caters for approximately 550 students from Year 7 to Year 12 ; [1] many of whom come from a background of socio-economic disadvantage . The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts was established in 1996 by Founder Mark Featherstone-Witty and Founding Patron Paul McCartney. It is based on the site of Paul and fellow Beatle George Harrison’s old school, The Liverpool Institute for Boys. A third Beatle, John Lennon attended the Liverpool College of Art.
