Producción. Lies of the Twins, que se emitió por primera vez en USA Network, se basa en la novela Lives of the Twins de Joyce Carol Oates, escrita bajo el seudónimo de Rosamond Smith. En una entrevista, Oates indicó que los realizadores "cambiaron bastante la trama. Yo no la vi". Gran parte de la película se rodó en la casa frente al mar de Richard Harrison en Malibú.
