Lester Keith Piggott (5 November 1935 – 29 May 2022) was an English professional jockey and trainer. With 4,493 career flat racing wins in Britain, including a record nine Epsom Derby victories, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest flat racing jockeys of all time and the originator of a much-imitated style.

He was the British riding champion 11 times (1960, 1964–71, and 1981–82). Born to parents whose families had long been associated with the turf, Piggott rode in his first race at the age of 12.
