As of 2016, Hanton still tours with Len Garry and Rod Davis. Later life. Hanton married his wife, Joan, in 1965. Together, they had two children. Hanton continued to work for the Guy Rogers carpentry company until it shut down in 1979. Afterwards, he opened his own upholstery business, which he still runs today. Colin still lives in Liverpool.

Len Garry ( Liverpool, 6 of January of 1942) is a British musician known for being a founding member in 1956 and performer of the bass box of tea ( tea-chest bass), the band The Quarry Men, founded and led by John Lennon, who was the predecessor of The Beatles. He left the band at the end of 1957. He was part of the group that re-founded the band in 1997, remaining active until the present (2018).
En mars, Len Garry contracta une méningite (dont il se rétablira plus tard), et fut donc mis en retrait. Eric Griffiths refusa de prendre sa place à la tea-chest bass et quitta le groupe. The Quarrymen returned to the New Clubmoor Hall in Norris Green, Liverpool, less than a month after they first played there. The concert yielded what are believed to be the first photographs of John Lennon and Paul McCartney together.

They do rock’n’roll as well, but tea upper body bass was area of the instrumentation for most young British sets of the time, not merely because it participate in the skiffle repertoire, but also since it was less costly than a power bass and amp.
