Sadly, he died last December. So, “Howlin’ for Hubert” morphed into an event “Celebrating the Musical Legacy of Hubert Sumlin.” The occasion is a Benefit for the Jazz Foundation of America, which supports struggling jazz and blues musicians by providing living expenses, health care, and housing. Sumlin is a case in point.
