29 de feb. de 2016 · A leap year is a year with 366 days instead of 365; every 4 years in February one extra day is added. This is done because one year doesn't contain 365 days but 365.25 days. By adding once in the 4 years one extra additional day this problem is solved. Any year that is divisible by 4 is a leap year, such as 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028.
27 de ago. de 2023 · Expect another leap year in 4 years. Each year lasts about 365 days and slightly under 6 hours. That extra 6 hours adds up to an extra day over the course of 4 years, which is why leap years occur almost every 4 years. Count ahead 4 years from the last leap year to estimate when the next leap year will be.
Every 4th year we add an extra day (the 29th of February), which makes 365.25 days a year. This is fairly close, but is wrong by about 1 day every 100 years. So every 100 years we don't have a leap year, and that gets us 365.24 days per year (1 day less in 100 year = -0.01 days per year). Closer, but still not accurate enough!
