5 de sept. de 2015 · By paying homage to Lead Belly on these live and studio renditions of the old master’s gold songs, blues great Eric Bibb and prolific harmonica player Jean-Jacques Milteau give us much more than a celebration of the folksinger’s rich musical heritage.
Eric Bibb and JJ Milteau have teamed up for Lead Belly’s Gold, a live album that pays tribute to the blues pioneer. The 16-track title is launched on October 2 via Dixiefrog and sees the duo delivering a set of Lead Belly classics along with a handful of their own compositions.
1 de dic. de 2015 · Bibb (guitar, voice) sings with a real fervour and the interplay between him and harmonica player Milteau on these songs – both live and studio – is dynamic, with Bourgeois Blues a triumph. The Bibb originals – written to mimic Lead Belly – less so (but there are only three). Overall, a very impressive tribute.
