The Eglise Saint-Sevérin Saint-Nicolas is a 13th-century church in the Latin Quarter of Paris, on rue des Prêtres-Saint-Séverin. Visitors can marvel at its gothic façade and ornate paintings, sculptures, and stained glass windows.
Amazing neighborhood. My husband and I rented an apartment for two weeks in the Latin Quarter in May 2023. It was a wonderful neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants, but located in an area where you can walk to many other places and explore. It was fairly quiet at night, and we felt very safe.
The Paris Latin Quarter was once a place teeming with students from the nearby universities, many of whom spoke Latin and the now ancient language once rang out everywhere in the area - hence the neighbourhood’s name. She made the Latin Quarter come alive for us, leading through the architecture of the various centuries and the stories the the buildings told. We cannot recommend this tour enough for anyone that wants to know the story of Paris. Read more. Written September 23, 2023.
Latin Quarter (also known later on as The LQ) was a nightclub in New York City. The club originally opened in 1942 and featured big-name acts. In recent years, it had been a focus of hip hop, reggaeton and salsa music. Its history is similar to that of its competitor, the Copacabana.
