William "Bill" Rieflin (Seattle; 30 de septiembre de 1960-Ibidem; 24 de marzo de 2020) [1] fue un músico estadounidense, más reconocido por haber sido baterista de la banda R.E.M.
They collaborated on several recordings; two in particular, The Ultimate Seaside Companion (as "The Bells") and Largo, showcase Rieflin's keyboard skills. Rieflin's solo debut, Birth of a Giant, featured him singing in something other than a background role, and also featured Robert Fripp.

It starts with the title track 'Largo' which is a fantastic, dramatic piece of music. The track is built around a clicking metronome and switches from an eerie feel to sheer beauty very subtly. 'Pray'r' is also excellent, featuring stunning ivory tinkling from Bill Rieflin.
