17 de feb. de 2013 · Keyboardist and bassist Lanier Greig, who was one of the original members of legendary rock band ZZ Top, died last week in Austin. He was 64. Greig's time in ZZ Top was short-lived. He exited the band not long after the group formed in Houston in 1969, and right before ZZ Top rose to stardom.

Lanier Greig. Keyboardist and bassist. He was in the original lineup of ZZ Top. He played only on the single "Salt Lick / Miller's Farm" issued in 1969. (born August 20, 1948 in Houston, Texas; died on February 15, 2013 in Austin, Texas).

29 de jul. de 2021 · Lanier Greig, a keyboardist from another hot Houston band, Neil Ford and the Fanatics, sat in on bass. The ensemble recorded a 45 rpm single in Tyler, “Salt Lick,” on Ham’s independent label, Scat Records. The record failed to stir up much attention, and Ham replaced Greig and Mitchell with bassist Billy Etheridge and drummer Frank Beard.
