Laine Theatre Arts, sometimes referred to as Laines, is an independent performing arts college, based in the town of Epsom in Surrey, England. The college was founded in 1974 by former professional dancer and dance teacher Betty Laine OBE, [1] [2] and developed from an earlier school, the Frecker-Laine School of Dancing.
Since its inception in 1962, Laine Theatre Arts has been dedicated to the fostering of creative talent. Among our alumni are some of the most highly regarded performers, teachers, choreographers, and director-choreographers in the world.
Founded in 1974 in Epsom, Laine is simply one of the best international dance and drama training colleges for performing arts. Laines training programme is a dynamic combination of up to the minute performance techniques and traditional values with a considerable theatre heritage at its base.
Diploma Courses. The three-year, full-time Musical Theatre Diploma at Laine Theatre Arts offers an exciting, fast-paced training, in which students are nurtured to become creative, generous, and highly disciplined performers.
BA HONS. This one-year programme, validated by the University of Portsmouth, has been designed to enhance the skill set of students who have undertaken vocational training by encouraging them to find inspiration in research as they develop a critical vocabulary to think, plan and talk about musical theatre in depth.
