Kurt Herkenberg (* 5. September 1948 in Berlin; † 11. Juli 1983 in Berlin) sammelte erste Erfahrungen in England, wo er Sessions mit Graham Bond und Jimmy Page gespielt hatte. Diese Erfahrungen machten ihn, als er 1968 nach Berlin zurück gekehrt war, zu einem äusserst gefragten Musiker.

The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese the only constant member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-1970s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann.

Curly Curve biography. Curly Curve were formed in Berlin in the late 60's. After multi-changes in the line up and various musical directions the band recorded their self titled album in 1973 for the legendary Brain Records.
Tangerine Dream 1967 – 1973. The first concert ever given by Tangerine Dream was in January 1968 in the Technical University of Berlin. One of the first official line-ups was: Volker Hombach (saxophone, flute, violin), Lanse Hapshash (drums), Kurt Herkenberg (bass) and Edgar Froese (guitar).
