22 de abr. de 2024 · He dreamed of radio stardom. At age eighteen Chet Atkins auditioned at Knoxville's WNOX and was hired as a fiddler by Archie Campbell and Bill Carlisle, then working as a duo. By 1942 he had his own little solo instrumental spot on WNOX's Mid-Day Merry-Go-Round show and by 1943 he was touring as a sideman with Kitty Wells and Johnny Wright.
