He hates them. In Kiss Toledo Goodbye, he's the only member of a criminal gang refusing to participate in its many scenes of violence, despite being present for all of them as moral support. There's a reason nobody has seen this (I'm only the 4th person to confirm it as 'SEEN' on Letterboxd). Kiss Toledo Goodbye is a really bad movie.
The editing is a real chop shop job, with absolutely zero flow to the story. Characters disappear for many minutes, then suddenly reappear for no particular reason. Christopher Walken gives a rather uninspired, typical quirky performance. The combination of attempted comedy along with a lot of gun banging goes nowhere.
