Sometimes called the “godfather of punk”, Iggy Pop is considered an icon in rock n’ roll's history. Born James Newell Osterberg Jr. in Muskegon, MI, he started playing music as a drummer in high school band The Iguanas (hence his nickname Iggy). He then went on to join blues band The Prime Movers, and also started filling as a drummer in other bands in blues clubs in the area of Chicago.
