Celluloid Heroes. Thought it boring on my first listen and tended afterwards to skip it before giving it a proper chance when it became stuck in my head…thank you Raymond Douglas. It’s now one of my favourite songs, not just Kinks songs, but in general.

Ray Davies can certainly claim some of the very best songs ever written in English.
