King of the Blues is a compilation album by American blues musician B. B. King covering the years 1949 through 1991. Released by MCA Records in 1992, the four CD box set includes some of King's most popular songs as well as some newer recordings.

The group was known as the Jazz Crusaders from their formation in 1960 until shortening their name in 1971. The Crusaders played a wide assortment of genres, including straight ahead jazz, urban R&B, R&B-based jazz, and the blues.

Historia Inicios. El grupo "The Jazz Crusaders" fue formado por el trombonista Wayne Henderson, el saxofonista Wilton Felder, el teclista Joe Sample y el baterista Stix Hooper, a los que se unieron el guitarrista Roy Gaines y el contrabajista Jimmy Bond, en 1961, [1] aunque ya con anterioridad habían trabajado juntos, llegando a grabar un par de singles, bajo el nombre de "The Nite Hawks".
