King Ecgbert School is a co-educational secondary school with academy status (age range 11–18) in the village of Dore in the south-west of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The headteacher (from January 2017) is Paul Haigh.
The school is proud of its diverse intake. We have a wide-reaching reputation for our work with children on the autistic spectrum and we celebrate our cultural and religious diversity. We ensure the school is a safe and welcoming place for all through our approach to promoting dignity and respect.

Ecgberht (770/775 – 839), also spelled Egbert, Ecgbert, Ecgbriht, Ecgbeorht, and Ecbert, was King of Wessex from 802 until his death in 839. His father was King Ealhmund of Kent.
