Kimberley Charles Rew (born 3 December 1951) is an English rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was a member of Katrina and the Waves from 1981 to 1999 [1] and of Robyn Hitchcock 's Soft Boys from 1978 to 1981. For Katrina and the Waves, he wrote "Walking on Sunshine" [1] and "Love Shine a Light".
A prodigious songwriter, Kimberley Rew wrote Walking On Sunshine, the huge worldwide hit for Katrina And The Waves. He’s also responsible for their Eurovision winning song Love Shine A Light. Kimberley Rew was born in Bristol, England, UK. He shares his origin with actor Cary Grant and Samuel Plimsoll, inventor of the Plimsoll Line, which in turn gave its name to a type of gym shoe. In the course of a peripatetic childhood Rew arrived in the junior year of Harrow County Boys’ Grammar School (not the posh one) in North London.
