Early years (1972–1977) Magnum's roots were in the house band at Birmingham 's famous Rum Runner night club (later the home of Duran Duran) in 1972. Joining Clarkin and Catley were drummer Kex Gorin (born Kevin Gorin, 26 January 1949, Birmingham died 21 December 2007) and bassist Bob Doyle.
15 de feb. de 2023 · Of the Magnum line-up that recorded Chase The Dragon, drummer Kex Gorin lost a long battle with cancer in December 2007, bassist Colin ‘Wally’ Lowe was last spotted running a B&B in Spain, and Stanway left the band in 2016.
27 de ene. de 2024 · Magnum’s drummer, Kex Gorin, left to go and play with Robin George. Mark Stanway, Magnum’s keyboard player, was helping out George too, and he’d also joined Phil Lynott ’s new band, Grand Slam.

21 de nov. de 2019 · Con Kex Gorin a la batería y Bob Doyle en el bajo, el grupo Magnum empezó a levantar más y más expectación. No tardarían mucho en lanzarse a crear sus propias composiciones. En 1977, y todavía sin un sello discográfico ni un álbum de estudio en el mercado, la banda giró por todo Reino Unido como teloneros de los legendarios Judas Priest.
