15 de dic. de 2019 · Borrowing its title from Kevin Ayers’ 1970 album of the same name, ‘Shooting At The Moon’ has been lovingly curated by Kevin’s youngest daughter, Galen Ayers. The book features the lyrics from all of Kevin’s solo albums, beginning with ‘Joy Of A Toy’ (1969) and continuing through the decades up to and including ‘The Unfairground’ (2007).

Biografía. Kevin Ayers nació el 16 de agosto del año 1945 en Kent, Inglaterra. Después de vivir durante un tiempo en Malasia, lugar en donde trabajó su padre, y pasar, ya en el Reino Unido, por combos psicoprogresivos como The Wilde Flowers o los canterburyanos The Soft Machine, Kevin decidió comenzar su carrera como solista a finales de la década de los 60.
Background. In 1971 Kevin Ayers started recording what would become his most acclaimed album, Whatevershebringswesing accompanied by members of Gong and his previous backing band The Whole World. Praised by NME, Record Mirror and Rolling Stone, the album realized all the musical aspirations Ayers had harboured since the inception of Soft Machine.
