Although not as recognized as Reid and Edmonds, another Deele member, Kevin "Kayo" Roberson maintained his association with the two, and was an instrumental part of the production team's success behind the scenes as a songwriter, co-producer, and studio bassist.
THE DEELE. The Deele’s single, “Body Talk” reached #3 on the R&B chart and its success foreshadowed the hit song, “Two Occasions.”. Cincinnati-born drummer Antonio “L.A.” Reid and vocalists, Kevin “Kayo” Robinson, Darnell “Dee” Bristol, Stanley “Stick” Burke, and Carlos “Satin” Greene founded the R&B band in 1981.

Pure Essence were an American R&B band from Cincinnati, Ohio, originally consisting of Steve "Tuck" Walters, Jerome "Mouse" Richmond, Toby Rivers, Tony Coats, Dwight Trible, Larry Middleton, Antonio "L.A." Reid, and Kevin "Kayo" Roberson. The band released only one record, in 1976, and achieved limited regional fame during their tenure.
