The park was founded in 1921 as part of the extraordinary legacy of Charles Wicksteed which extends beyond the Recreation Park he created. As an entrepreneur & innovator Charles was also an inventor & respected successful engineer.

Hace 4 días · The town of Kettering is situated on a flat-topped ridge, composed mainly of Northampton Sand, at around 90 m.–105 m. above OD. On either side of this ridge the land falls steeply, to the R. Ise on the E. and The Slade on the W., both of which flow S. in clay-floored valleys.
