First for today is the 1977 release on Polydor, Manhattan Special.This album was also released as Songs Of The Birds.I think this might be the reason I stumbled upon Teruo because Herbie Hancock is featured here on Rhodes and synthesizer.

  5. 6 de may. de 2024 · Kazumi Watanabe ( Japanese: 渡辺 香津美, Hepburn: Watanabe Kazumi, born October 14, 1953 in Tokyo) is a Japanese guitarist. Other guitarists such as Luke Takamura and Sugizo have cited him as an influence. Career. Watanabe learned guitar at the age of 12 from Sadanori Nakamure at the Yamaha Music School in Tokyo. He released his first album in 1971.

  6. I had a few of his Mobo albums, where he had rhythm sections of Omar Hakim and Marcus Miller, and Sly and Robbie. Good stuff. I read somewhere that Kazumi taught in Los Angeles back in the 80's, and Eddie Van Halen took a few lessons with him. Kazumi is awesome. Definitely very underrated.
