Karel Reisz est un réalisateur, producteur et théoricien du cinéma puis un metteur en scène de théâtre britannique d'origine tchécoslovaque, né le 21 juillet 1926 à Ostrava (ex- Tchécoslovaquie) et mort le 25 novembre 2002 à Londres ( Grande-Bretagne ). Il fut l'un des animateurs du Free cinema avec Lindsay Anderson et Tony Richardson .

Karel Reisz (21. heinäkuuta 1926 Ostrava, Tšekkoslovakia – 25. marraskuuta 2002 Camden, Lontoo, Britannia) oli tšekkiläissyntyinen brittiläinen elokuvaohjaaja ja näyttelijä. Hän työskenteli Britanniassa toisen maailmansodan jälkeen ja oli 1950–1960-luvun brittiläisen elokuvan realismin uranuurtajia.
Karel Reisz pasó a la Historia del Cine por ser uno de los impulsores del “ Free Cinema ”, junto a Tony Richardson y Lindsay Anderson. Su revolución arremetió frontalmente contra lo académico. Según el manifiesto de Anderson, el cine que tenían los ingleses ostentaba "una actitud metropolitana" y era "burguesa de los pies a la cabeza".
