24 de feb. de 2022 · This spot could have easily gone to ‘Sympathy for the Devil’, ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Angie’, and especially ‘She’s A Rainbow’, but he was arguably never better than he was on Exile on Main St. ‘s ‘Loving Cup’. Hopkins rarely stepped into the spotlight. He was a session man through and through, with little in the way of ego.
23 de ago. de 2012 · On Just for Love, Quicksilver finally was Valenti's backup group (he wrote all but one of the songs), and while this gave them greater coherence and accessibility, as well as their only Top 50 single in "Fresh Air," it also made them less the boogie band they had been. Nicholas Christian "Nicky" Hopkins (24 February 1944 – 6 September 1994) was an English pianist and organist. ... Hopkins played on Quicksilver Messenger Service's albums Just for Love and What About Me, both released in 1970. He also contributed to the band's 1975 reunion album.

In 2019, on what would have been Hopkins’ 75th birthday, London’s Royal Academy of Music posthumously bestowed a scholarship in his name and honor. Nicky Hopkins is an unsung hero, a keyboardist of extraordinary talent whose contributions to music will live on today, tomorrow and the next day.
To his credit, Nicky Hopkins can certainly stamp a song with his character. 'Just For Love's' songs are mostly good but for the overall feeling that Valente would've been better off on his own and that QMS should've either broken up and moved on or changed their name to something less loaded with specific mercurial promise.

Nicky Hopkins was one of rock history's preeminent pianists, having had contributed his talent to many memorable albums by top artists, ranging from the Rolling Stones to the Who. There is no exception here, with Quicksilver Messenger Service, as evident on this particular album, and on the previous studio album, especially on the song entitled, "Edward, the Mad Shirt Grinder."
