Pas de quatre (Perrot) Grand pas de quatre es un ballet coreografiado por Jules Perrot en 1845, por sugerencia de Benjamin Lumley, director del Her Majesty's Theatre, con música compuesta por Cesare Pugni . Jules Perrot was a famous dancer and choreographer, and was a student of August Vestris and Salatore Vigano. He began his career as a circus pantomimist and clown, and danced in provincial French theatres and later moved to Paris. His debut at the Opera was in 1830 and his first performance created a sensation.

Jules Perrot was born in Lyon in 1810. Hired by the Théâtre de la Gaité (Paris), he studied with Vestris and then danced at the Théâtre de la Porte-Saint-Martin. Jules Perrot, (born Aug. 18, 1810, Lyon, France—died Aug. 24, 1892, Paramé), French dancer and choreographer. After studying with Auguste Vestris, he debuted at the Paris Opéra in 1830. He often partnered Marie Taglioni until 1835, when he left the company to tour in Europe.
