The Juilliard School (/ ˈ dʒ uː l i. ɑːr d / JOO-lee-ard) is a private performing arts conservatory in New York City. Founded by Frank Damrosch as the Institute of Musical Art in 1905, the school later added dance and drama programs and became the Juilliard School, named after its principal benefactor Augustus D. Juilliard.
Juilliard Drama is dedicated to preparing 21st-century actors and playwrights to tell, with clarity and passion, imagination and artistry, meaningful stories that speak to the truth of the world in which we live.
The estimated budget for a first-time, first-year Juilliard student for the nine-month 2024-2025 academic year is calculated as follows. This budget includes both direct and indirect costs. Direct Costs: Tuition, fees, insurance, and residence hall expenses, which are billed directly to students.

Overview. Highly gifted musicians with undergraduate degrees or diplomas, but who are not seeking a full Master of Music degree, can apply for the 1-year Graduate Diploma program. The Music Division accepts a total of approximately 150 instrumentalists and vocalists into the program every year.
