Jon Carin (* 21. Oktober 1964 in New York) ist ein US-amerikanischer Musiker, Songwriter und Musikproduzent. Bekannt wurde Carin durch die Zusammenarbeit mit der britischen Rockband Pink Floyd, sowie mit deren Gitarristen David Gilmour, als Solist und dem Gründungsmitglied der Band Roger Waters, während seiner Solokarriere.
Jon Carin (born October 21, 1964) is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer and engineer. He has been known to play piano, synthesizer, drums, bass, guitar and lap steel guitar. His first claim to fame came with being the lead singer of the band Industry (2), as well as being their keyboardist and songwriter.
All of The Later Years was mixed in the box on a computer by someone else, so it’s pretty hard on the old ears. In my opinion, James should be used exclusively for the PF catalog. He’s the very best there is. Carin also mentioned this: Animals remix is beyond unbelievably good. It has been finished for years.
Jon “The Backtracker™️” Carin. He tried to copy Roger’s petulance and autocracy for a day but apparently just couldn’t stomach it, let alone match it. Perhaps the real lesson in here for Jon with regards to credits has little to do with the other members and more to do with attempting to copy Roger’s style of public discourse.
Jon Carin has some thoughts about the situation. He himself said that the songs on the PF albums he actually was part of are "95% David". We know he brought songs like A Great Day for Freedom, Sorrow or High Hopes into the band in a pretty finished state. Jon is just losing credibility.
Jon Carin was pivotal in the Gilmour-led Pink Floyd. The live shows were all played on digital keyboards and synths, Carin is confirmed to have done most of the sampling and programming, basically out-Wrighting Wright in the digital age. He’s playing most of Wright’s parts live where Wright sticks to basic piano and organ sounds.
