First off, as I'm sure most know, this book (& movie) are based on the short story, Johnny Mnemonic , by cyberpunk author, William Gibson . I have never read the short story, though I plan to, of course. If you haven't seen the movie, I'm not sure if you should.

A man and woman briefly kiss. In the beginning of the movie Johnny is lying in bed in boxer briefs and a woman is scantily dressed. She puts on her nylons and leaves the room. In a bar scene men and some women are shown in what appears to be S&M apparel. A man implies that a woman could work as a prostitute for him.

26 de may. de 1995 · "Johnny Mnemonic" is one of the great goofy gestures of recent cinema, a movie that doesn't deserve one nanosecond of serious analysis but has a kind of idiotic grandeur that makes you almost forgive it. Based on a story by William Gibson, the father of cyberpunk fiction, it has the nerve to pose as a futuristic fable when in fact all of its parts were bought off the shelf at the Used Movie Store.
