Hace 3 días · Johnnie Taylor was born May 5, 1937, in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. He started his recording career as a gospel singer with the Highway QCs, a group founded by Sam Cooke. Johnnie Taylor's earliest rhythm and blues recordings were supervised and produced by Sam Cooke. After switching to Stax, Johnnie Taylor became a major R&B star.
