John Witherspoon (né Weatherspoon, January 27, 1942 – October 29, 2019), was an American character actor and stand-up comedian who performed in various television shows and films.
John Witherspoon (1942-2019) was an African-American actor from Detroit, Michigan known for playing Granddad from The Boondocks and Willie Jones from the Friday trilogy. He also acted in Boomerang, Little Nicky, Soul Plane, Vampire in Brooklyn, Black Jesus and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
