John James Sykes (born 29 July 1959) is an English guitarist, best known as a member of Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy and Tygers of Pan Tang. He has also fronted the hard rock group Blue Murder and released several solo albums.

En 1996 John Sykes decidió reactivar a Thin Lizzy, presentando a la banda como un tributo a la vida y obra de Phil Lynott. [30] El guitarrista decidió encargarse de la voz y convenció a Scott Gorham, Brian Downey y Darren Wharton para que lo acompañaran.
John Sykes started his career in 1980 with the “New Wave of British Heavy Metal” band, The Tygers of Pan Tang. After two years of albums and tours with the Tygers, John auditioned for a place in classic rock band Thin Lizzy, where he successfully got the part as their new lead guitar player alongside Scott Gorham.
