John Rattenbury Skeaping, RA (9 June 1901 – 5 March 1980) was an English sculptor and equine painter and sculptor. He designed animal figures for Wedgwood, and his life-size statue of Secretariat is exhibited at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.

Sculptor in wood, stone, terracotta and bronze, draughtsman and teacher, born at South Woodford, Essex. Skeaping – son of Kenneth Mathieson Skeaping, the painter – studied at Goldsmiths’ College School of Art, the Central School of Arts and Crafts 1917–19 and the Royal Academy Schools, 1919–20.
