John Pazdan. Cliff Johnson. West Davis. Pezband was an American power pop band, formed in 1971 in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park, Illinois, United States. The ensemble began in the fall of 1971 when four Oak Park musicians teamed up to jam on covers of songs by The Yardbirds, Kinks and Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac.

Joined by original member John Pazdan, the trio headed to Los Angeles to record at the legendary Record Plant, where high school friend Paul Broucek worked. With Broucek at the helm, Pezband completed Women & Politics, a four-song EP that saw the band sharpening a harder edge without abandoning their power pop roots.
The ensemble began in the fall of 1971 when four Oak Park musicians teamed up to jam on covers of songs by The Yardbirds, Kinks and Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac. The original lineup consisted of Mimi Betinis (guitar and lead vocals), Mick Rain (drums and vocals), John Pazdan (guitar, piano and vocals), and Mike Gorman (bass and vocals).
The band was founded by Paul Darrow, Cliff Johnson, Paul McDermott, John Pazdan and Dan Santercola in 1977 in Oak Park, Illinois, United States. After several line-up changes including the addition of songwriter/guitarist John Ivan and Robert Harding, plus drummer Ken Harck, the band's debut album On was released by Atlantic Records in 1979.
