John Turner (12 August 1947 – 1 May 2002), known professionally as John Nathan-Turner, was an English television producer. He was the ninth producer of the long-running BBC science fiction series Doctor Who and the final producer of the series' first run on television (from 1980 until it was cancelled in 1989).

John Nathan-Turner (12 August 1947-1 May 2002) was first a member of the production team and then the ninth, longest serving and final producer for the original run of Doctor Who. He is often known simply by his initials, JNT.
John Nathan-Turner. Producer: Doctor Who. John Nathan-Turner was born and brought up in the Midlands. As a boy he acted in numerous school plays and revues and appeared as an extra in several TV series, including The Newcomers (1965) and United! (1965) for the BBC and Crossroads (1964) for ATV.

31 de jul. de 2022 · Richard Molesworth wrote an excellent book, The John Nathan-Turner Doctor Who Production Diary, 1979-1990, published in 2022. Nathan-Turner died tragically young, in his early 50s. His partner, Gary Downie, survived him for a few years before also passing away before his 60th birthday.
