John Moorshead. Profile: UK guitarist who replaced John Weider in Johnny Kidd & The Pirates in 1965. Variously known as 'Morsehead', 'Morshead', 'Jon Moorhead', John Moorshead then joined the seminal but short-lived Shotgun Express with Rod Stewart.

John Moreshead took over from John Weider as lead axeman in the Pirates in September 1965 but does not appear to have been involved on any recording session as these were quite scarce for Johnny Kidd at this time in his career.Te stayed with Johnny Spence and Frank Farley till the end of April of the following year when the Pirates split from Kidd to make it on their own.

Location: bristol uk. John Moreshead is an interesting character. I'm not even certain that's how is surname is spelt I've seen it in so many variations.
Completing the group was guitarist John Moreshead, who’d played with The Pirates, both with and without Johnny Kidd, and UK Soul band Shotgun Express, where he’d taken the place of Peter Green as Greeny departed to join Mayall.
